If no one’s told you yet, let me be the first: There are seasons of life that will leave you feeling restless, stuck in feelings you don’t know what to do with…feelings you, at times, don’t know how to talk about.
You’ll want to protect yourself, so you’ll stuff the feelings that overwhelm you into a box and shove it into a corner of your mind that’s hard to get to through the Netflix, scrolling, surface conversations and general busyness you use to fill the gaps. But you’ll still feel it, humming in the background. This low-grade rumbling, reminding you something is off, hovering just outside your consciousness. That is, until you lay down for bed at night. Until the quiet settles over you and the thoughts and feelings you so carefully stored away tumble out, uninvited.
This is the part no one really shares. Why talk about it when we can, instead, architect a person easy to be around? A person who never pushes in, who allows the heavy stuff to sink to the bottom of every relationship? It’s easier that way. But that restlessness underlying your moments of joy…the cause is tied to your box. Remember? The one in the corner of our mind that holds the things too overwhelming to look at straight on.
This episode aims to empty your boxes. To flip back the lids and pull out the moments, words, thoughts, feelings we weren’t able to place. You’re getting overwhelmed by the thought…that’s okay. Don’t slam the lid back down yet. Listen carefully. Kaley was where you are, and she’s finding her way out – you can, too.
