We enter marriage with an expectation. An idea. And when that expectation isn’t met, when the idea remains just that…an idea…we’re left with disappointment and apprehension.

I’m thankful for the people in my life who came alongside me to help navigate the realities of intimacy. I’m even more thankful for the stories of my people who experienced the redemption of knowing a grace-filled Jesus in the face of a shame-filled moment in life. This may just have to be part one as we start a long overdue conversation around purity culture, real intimacy and why the heck no one tells you what that honeymoon night is actually like.
